ASH Wednesday
The Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes formally kick off the weekend with a dinner, for those who are already in the city.
6:30 p.m. Dinner upstairs at Annie Moore's, 22 E. 41st Street (map)
Cost: Attendees pay their own checks, including tax and tip, but it's a good idea to let Susan Rice (125 Washington Place #2-E, New York, NY 10014) or Evy Herzog (301 Warren Ave., Apt. 203, Baltimore, MD 21230) know if you're coming to the event.

The Christopher Morley Walk
The 16th annual Christopher Morley Walk led by Jim Cox and Doré Nash. The walk is free, but be prepared to pay for a Metrocard and lunch. Doré tells us that there are mugs of light and/or dark ale served two at a time, along with corned beef on rye or a cheddar cheese platter with raw onions and crackers.

The 21st BSI Distinguished Speaker Lecture
This year's Distinguished Speaker is Martin Edwards, who chairs England’s Crime Writers’ Association (CWA). He has authored over 60 short stories; edited 35 anthologies; and published 10 non-fiction books, including a study of crime scene investigation techniques and real-life cases. His publications include The New Mysteries of Sherlock Holmes, a collection of Sherlockian short stories. Martin has been honored with Edgar, Agatha, Macavity, and Poirot awards in the US; plus the Margery Allingham prize and Keating award in the UK. He is past president of the world-famous Detection Club.

The Daintiest Scream on the Moor Charity Ball
The Baker Street Babes present a charity event to benefit the Disabled American Veterans Trust. Auction, Quiz, Costume Competition, Raffle. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the DAV Trust.
8:00 p.m. 3 West Club (3 W. 51st St. - map)
Cost: Ticket price TBA for Buffet dinner, cash bar, raffle, quiz, costume competition, toasts and entertainment.

The Gaslight Gala
6:30 p.m. The Gaslight Gala (dinner and entertainment) is sponsored by the Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes and will be held at Social Bar Grill and Lounge  – 795 8th Ave at W. 48th St. (map)
