The BSI Distinguished Speaker Lecture
This year's Distinguished Speaker is Michael Sims, editor of the anthology The Penguin Book of Gaslight Crime: Con Artists, Burglars, Rogues, and Scoundrels from the Time of Sherlock Holmes and the upcoming The Dead Witness: A Connoissueur's Collection of Victorian Detective Stories. The lecture will cost $11.00; seating is limited, and you should reserve early.

6:15 p.m. BSI Distinguished Speaker Lecture at the Midtown Executive Club - note the new location (40 West 45th St. - map)

Accommodations

Arrangements have been made for a block of rooms at the Roosevelt Hotel (45 East 45th Street) at a special tax-free rate; the special rate is available only for reservations made through the Baker Street Irregulars by Nov. 19.

The BSI Distinguished Speaker Lecture

This year's Distinguished Speaker is Joan Winterkorn, an internationally-recognized appraiser and archivist who evaluated the seven-generation John Murray & Sons archives; she will talk about Holmes, Conan Doyle, and other Murray authors' archival adventures. Admission is by advance purchase only, and it is suggested that you purchase your seat quickly, as this event consistently sells out.
